Non Qualified
Structured Settlements
What are Non-Qualified Structured Settlements
Non-Qualified Structured Settlements are successfully used in claim settlements that do not qualify for the tax exclusions under Section 104(a)(2) for injuries or sickness and allows the Defendant to transfer the future payments to a life insurance company.
A Non-Qualified Structured Settlement is used in a great variety of non-physical injury settlements and allows the claimant to defer the receipt of income into future years, thus providing the ability to defer and spread the tax implications over a number of years. The future periodic payments can be customized to meet the individual needs of the plaintiff and guaranteed for their lifetime or a specific period of time.
